Genius Test Review on Ingredients, Dosage, and Side-Effects

Genius Test Review on Ingredients, Dosage, and Side-Effects

Review of: Genius Test by The Genius Brand

Summary: Genius Test is my #1 rated herbal testosterone booster. Although the manufacturers didn't include micronutrient support (vitamin D, zinc, magnesium, etc.), they made up for it by infusing a powerful herbal blend that has a proven track record of boosting testosterone levels in men. With the likes of ashwagandha, tongkat ali, shilajit, and boron included in the mix, Genius Test is a supplement that will reinvigorate your sex drive, boost your energy levels, and significantly decrease your stress.  If you're looking for the best natural test booster on the market, look no further than Genius Test.

Relatively expensive per serving.

Yes, Genius Test works. It contains ingredients that have been validated through clinical research to have a positive impact on testosterone. That being said, it's important to understand that a natural test booster DOES NOT have the same effects as anabolic steroids. Don't expect Genius Test to be some sort of magic pill. In order for you to truly experience the positive benefits from supplementation, you MUST make specific diet and lifestyle changes as well.

The bulk of this review is centred on an analysis of the Genius Test ingredient profile. After all, a supplement is only as good as its ingredients. I've gone through 17 independent research papers to figure out whether Genius Test is actually effective at boosting T or not.

After going through my review, you will have all the information you need in order to make an informed decision before purchase.

Genius Test Ingredients

Genius Test's impressive formula is a combination of 7 ingredients that have been carefully selected to help elevate every aspect of your sexual, mental, and physical health. Now, let's go through each ingredient one piece at a time.

Genius Test Supplement Facts

KSM-66® Ashwagandha (1000mg)

Ashwagandha is a herb from Ayurveda (a branch of ancient Indian herbal medicine) that has powerful adaptogenic qualities, i.e. it is very effecting at helping the body deal with the chemical and physical effects of stress. KSM-66 is a patented form of the herb with the highest dosage of withanolides (the active compound in ashwagandha).

The primary impact of ashwagandha is it's ability to lower cortisol levels. Cortisol is catabolic and it hampers your body's ability to produce optimal levels of testosterone. Let's take a quick look at the research on the interaction between testosterone and ashwagandha:

  • 64 subjects given a daily dose of 600mg of ashwagandha root extract for 60 days experienced 27.9% lower cortisol levels as a result (1).
  • 60 infertile men given a daily dose of 5g of ashwagandha root powder for 3 months experienced increased sperm concentrations (+17-36%), increased testosterone levels (+10-22%), and decreased cortisol levels (-36-48%) (2).
  • Healthy male subjects given a daily dose of 300mg of ashwagandha root extract for 8 weeks experienced significant increases in muscular strength (+138% in bench press 1-RM) and testosterone levels (+15%) (3).

The 1000mg of KSM-66 dose in Genius Test is a huge plus point. I haven't seen any other supplement provide such a high dosage. Not only will ashwagandha provide mental clarity but it will also allow your body to relax, increase recovery, and build more muscle as a result.

PrimaVie® Shilajit (500mg)

Shilajit extract is a mixture of minerals from Ayurveda that, like ashwagandha, has also been used for thousands of years. Unlike ashwagandha however, which has been studied in over 300 scientific papers, shilajit is still in the preliminary stages of research. Nonetheless, here's a quick look at what some studies have found:

  • 60 infertile men given a daily dose of 200mg of processed shilajit for 90 days experienced, on average, a 23.5% increase in testosterone levels as well as significant improvements in seminal parameters (4).
  • Healthy male subjects aged between (45-55) given a daily dose of 500mg of purified shilajit for 90 days experienced a 20.45% increase in testosterone levels (5).

PrimaVie is a patented form of purified shilajit with the highest amount of fulvic acid (the active ingredient in shilajit). Although the research on shilajit and its interaction with testosterone is not definitive, the current research does show promise.

Fenugreek Seed Extract (500mg)

Fenugreek is a common ingredient found in many of the most popular test boosters on the market. It has traditionally been used to enhance aspects of male health, but let's take a look at what the research says:

  • Resistance-trained men given a daily dose of 500mg of fenugreek extract for 8-weeks experienced, on average, a 12.26% increase in bio-available testosterone levels (6).
  • Healthy male subjects, aged between 25-52, given a daily dose of 600mg of fenugreek extract for 6-weeks experienced significant increases in physiological aspects of libido (as assessed by a self-administered questionnaire) (7).
  • Resistance-trained men given a daily dose of 500mg of fenugreek extract for 8-weeks experienced, on average, a 10% decrease in free testosterone levels (8).

The current stage of research on fenugreek and its interaction with testosterone reveals mixed results. As such, fenugreek is not a proven test booster. Nonetheless, it has been shown to improve aspects of male sexual health.

Quercetin (250mg)

Quercetin is a naturally occurring compound that is most commonly found in apples and onions. It has been shown to have powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, but has not been thoroughly researched as per its interaction with hormones.

There is one study that showed onion juice (a rich source of quercetin) to increase testosterone levels in rats (9), but whether or not this effect carries on to affect humans in the same way still remains to be seen.

DIM (250mg)

Diindoylymethane (DIM) is a compound commonly found in green leafy vegetables that holds promise as a preventative measure against cancer. It is also a powerful aromatase inhibitor. Aromatase is an enzyme that converts testosterone into estrogen; the less of it in your body, the more testosterone is allowed to remain unconverted.

Here's one study done on DIM and estrogens:

  • Healthy men given 500mg of DIM for 1-week experienced significant decreases in overall estrogenic activity (10).

The above is the lone human study performed with DIM, but a boat load of rat studies (111213) point to the fact that supplementation allows the body to regulate estrogen more efficiently by converting potent forms to less potent ones.

Don't think of DIM as a powerful estrogen-blocker; the research is still very much limited in that scope. Nonetheless, the 250mg dose contained within Genius Test is a plus point.

LJ100™ (100mg)

LJ100 is a patented form of the herb tongkat ali. Tongkat ali is a herb native to parts of South East Asia that has traditionally been used to treat a wide variety of conditions ranging from erectile dysfunction to digestive issues.

Tongkat ali has developed a reputation for its ability to enhance overall sexual health, but let's take a quick look at what the research has to say:

  • Subjects screened for moderate stress were given a daily dose of 200mg of tongkat ali extract for 4-weeks, after which they experienced a 37% increase in free testosterone levels (14).
  • Physically active subjects (aged 57-72) were given 400mg of tongkat ali extract for 5-weeks, after which total testosterone levels increased by 15.1% (15).

The above two studies show a positive interaction of tongkat ali supplementation on testosterone levels in men. There are other studies that show different results but, for the most part, tongkat ali is an ingredient that I like seeing in testosterone boosters.

Boron Citrate (10mg)

Boron is a mineral naturally present in some foods and in the environment as well. It is a relatively new ingredient in the sense that it is still in preliminary research, and companies are only now beginning to add it to their supplements.

Boron does seem to have a positive impact on testosterone levels in humans but, given the limited amount of studies, it is not conclusive. Nonetheless, let's take a quick look at the two human trials:

  • 8 healthy male subjects given a daily dose of 10mg of boron citrate for 7-days experienced a 28% increase in free testosterone levels as a result (16).
  • Athletic male subjects given 2.5mgs of boron citrate for 7-weeks after which they exprienced no signifcant increases in testosterone levels (17).

The above two studies are the only human trials I was able to find on the effect of boron supplementation on testosterone levels in humans. Keep in mind that the dosage in the first study was 4x higher than the dosage in the second study. Genius Test also contains the 10mg dose.

More research is required to determine whether boron's impact on T is conclusive, but current studies do show promise.

Genius Test is a crowd favorite over at It receives a 4.8 star rating from 307 verified customer reviews.

There are a bunch of people claiming that supplementation with has allowed them to achieve sky-high energy, better sleep, and new strength records in the gym.

Genius Test is relatively more expensive compared to the average test booster on the market but, given the superior ingredient profile, the price is justified.

For this portion of the review, let's see how Genius Test stacks up against some other best-selling test booster supplements on Amazon.

Genius Test vs EvlTest

EvlTest by Evlution Nutrition is a best-selling test booster across the web. Its ingredient profile starts off with a proven micronutrient formula that provides hefty doses of vitamin D, zinc, magnesium, and vitamin B6. This is definitely a plus point. But where EvlTest loses out is on its test boosting formula.

D-Aspartic Acid, tribulus, fenugreek, and DIM are the ingredients intended to boost testosterone levels. D-AA has a lot of mixed research on its interaction with testosterone while tribulus boosts libido without impacting T. Genius Test definitely comes out on top given its superior test boosting blend.

Winner: Genius Test

Genius Test vs Nugenix

Nugenix is a testosterone booster that is readily available at GNC stores across the world. The company seems to have some spent some serious marketing dollars, because it has been a best-seller for a long time now.

Nugenix contains a proprietary blend consisting of L-Citrulline malate, fenugreek, and tribulus. L-citrulline is a proven nitric oxide booster, but as per its effects on testosterone, they are negligible. Nugenix is an example of a supplement that increases libido without impacting testosterone.

Winner: Genius Test

Genius Test vs Test Worx

Test Worx by Superior Labs is a test booster that has been selling very well on But it is yet another example of a supplement that boosts libido without increasing testosterone.

The primary ingredients in Test Worx are zinc along with a proprietary blend consisting of tribulus, maca root, nettle root, tongkat ali, and l-arginine. Out of all of these ingredients only tongkat ali has some evidence supporting its positive impact on T, while all the others are either libido enhancers or nitric oxide boosters. Again, Genius Test easily comes out on top.

Winner: Genius Test

Genius Test vs Six Star Testosterone Booster

Six Star's testosterone booster is a budget supplement that includes an interesting formula. It starts off with an anti-catabolic mix, which includes rhodiola extract and ginko extract. Both of these ingredients have limited human research on their interactions with hormones but, based on animal research, they do seem promising.

The other ingredient is boron. As you've seen, this is another supplement with limited research observing its impact on hormones, but nonetheless, is an ingredient that I like to see in test boosters.

Although Six Star is a decent supplement, Genius Test definitely comes out on top again.
