Review of: PRIMASURGE by Jacked Supplements
Powerful herbal formula
Low dosage of active ingredients
Mostly positive feedback
Lower price point
Summary: PRIMASURGE by Jacked Supplements is a testosterone booster that packs in a bunch of proven ingredients. All of the top herbs that I like to see in a supplement of this kind (ashwagandha, tongkat ali, shilajit, and boron) are included within the mix. The only two drawbacks are that the manufacturers didn't add in the vitamins and minerals (vitamin D, zinc, and magnesium) that also support optimal T. And secondly, the dosages are a little less than I would've liked to see.
Verdict: Overall, PRIMASURGE is a superior supplement that includes a bunch of ingredients with a proven track record of increasing natural testosterone production. This is why it currently sits at #5 on my rankings of the best test boosters on the market.
Jacked Supplements have done a great job at putting together a testosterone booster that actually works as advertised. That being said, I highly recommend that you don't rely on supplements as the primary measure of getting your hormonal health handled. Only consider supplementing with PRIMASURGE once you have begun implementing the particular diet and lifestyle changes that are in line with your objective of ramping up natural testosterone production.
A supplements' effectiveness is dependent on the effectiveness of its ingredients. This is why my review focuses mostly on the clinical research behind PRIMASURGE's individual ingredients. Factors such as customer feedback and price are considered as well, but not with as much emphasis.
Basing your purchase decision on scientific research is your best bet in assessing whether a particular supplement will work for you or not. I've done my best at summarizing the research on PRIMASURGE's ingredients and hope that my breakdown provides you with the clarity you need to make an informed decision before purchase
Without further adieu, let's get to it.
1 serving of PRIMASURGE contains the following ingredients and dosages:
Ashwagandha is one of my favorite ingredients to see in a test booster. Not only has it been used for centuries, but it also has a bunch of scientific evidence backing up its effectiveness. Here's a quick look at 4 clinical trials on ashwagandha's interaction with testosterone:
Ashwagandha is what's known as an adaptogenic herb. Adaptogens are compounds that help your body deal with the chemical and physical effects of stress. The primary impact of ashwagandha is its ability to lower cortisol levels, and this is perhaps the means through which it is able to increase testosterone levels as well.
The 250mg dose of ashwagandha in PRIMASURGE is less than what I would've liked to see but, nonetheless, it is a solid ingredient to include.
Chlorophytum Borivilianum, otherwise known as Safed Musli, is a herb from the ancient branch of Indian herbal medicine called Ayurveda. Traditionally, safed musli has been used as an aphrodisiac (5). The research regarding safed musli's effectiveness in humans is limited, but there is some animal research that seems promising:
Given the above two studies, safed musli seems to be a potent libido enhancer in rats. This does not mean, however, that testosterone levels increased as a result as well. Although high T translates to high libido, high libido does not automatically mean high T. Still, a loss in libido is a symptom of low T and many men looking to boost T are also looking to boost their libido as well. In that regard, safed musli seems like a good ingredient. But then again, its not for certain whether the same effects found in rats carry over in humans as well.
Like the above two ingredients, shilajit is also a herb that finds its roots in the art of Ayurvedic healing. Shilajit is a mixture of minerals that oozes out of mountains and is theorized to be a formation of decomposed plant matter.
Shilajit is an ingredient that is relatively new to the west and, as such, is still in the preliminary stages of research. Here's a quick look at the two current human studies:
At the current stage of research, shilajit supplementation seems to be effective at boosting testosterone levels in both infertile and healthy men. The mechanisms through which it is able to do so are still unknown, but the evidence seems promising.
The 125mg dose of shilajit in PRIMASURGE is lower than the effective dose, but you can make up for it by taking more than one serving.
Eurycoma longifolia, also known as tongkat ali, is a herb that has traditionally been used in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam for the purposes of male enhancement. Tongkat ali is a popular ingredient in testosterone boosters these days, but let's take a look at whether the research backs up its effectiveness:
Tongkat ali is another one of my favorite herbal ingredients to see in a test booster. PRIMASURGE contains only, however, 100mg of tongkat ali, which is an amount well-below the dosage that was used in the experiments cited above.
Boron is a trace mineral that is naturally present in the environment and in some foods as well. In the human body, it plays a key role in strengthening the bones, balancing hormones, and keeping the mind sharp (13). As per its effects on the big T, here's what the research says:
Boron is a great addition to any testosterone booster because it's proven to have a positive influence on T. The 5mg dose in PRIMASURGE is below the ideal 10mg dose that I would've liked to see, but it is still effective.
Black pepper extract is an ingredient that provides no benefits on its own, but can enhance the absorption of the active ingredients included within PRIMASURGE. This can further increase the effectiveness of the supplement since more of the stuff is actually being taken up by the body.
PRIMASURGE receives a solid 4.5 out of 5 star rating on Amazon after 702 verified customer reviews. Given PRIMASURGE's proven ingredient profile, it's no surprise that so many customers report feelings of increased energy, endurance, and well-being.
I include customer testimonials as a consideration in my reviews, but never as a primary determining factor of effectiveness.
PRIMASURGE is definitely one of the better priced test boosters on the market. It retails well below the point of many of its competitors. That being said, the dosage levels are not very high of each ingredient and, as such, you might want to pop more than one serving of it per day, which can jack up the amount you spend.
PRIMASURGE contains an all natural, herbal formula and side-effects are rare. Nonetheless, every supplement on the market can possibly cause side effects.
For this portion of my review, I'll go over a list of possible side effects that are associated withe each one of PRIMASURGE's ingredients.
Not enough information.
Possibly safe when taken as a supplement for up to 9 months.
High doses of boron supplementation can lead to:
PRIMASURGE is a quality testosterone booster with a bunch of proven ingredients that can significantly enhance your overall energy, vitality, and libido. For this portion of the review, let's see how it stacks up against some other test-boosters that promise to deliver the same effects.
Both Primasurge and Androsurge are manufactured by Jacked Supplements. Primasurge is marketed as a testosterone booster while Androsurge is marketed as an estrogen blocker.
Androsurge contains vitamin D and zinc; two ingredients that are crucial for optimal T. Its herbal ingredients include DIM, grape seed extract, rhodiola extract, and tongkat ali. These herbs have been shown to have estrogen suppressing effects.
A lot of people stack both of these supplements together, but if I had to choose one, PRIMASURGE definitely comes out on top.
Test x180 Ignite is a very popular testosterone booster that is placed on GNC shelves around the world. As for its ingredient profile, it is not very impressive. There are two proprietary blends named the manliness ignition matrix and the fat incineration complex. Compelling names, I admit, but the ingredients are not very effective according to the research.
Fenugreek, green tea leaf extract, avena sativa extract, and horny goat weed are all ingredients that do not have conclusive evidence surrounding their effectiveness at boosting T. The fat-loss ingredients are standard ones like caffeine and coffee extract. PRIMASURGE is definitely the superior test booster in this case.
The Six Star Testosterone Booster is a budget supplement manufactured by a sister company of MuscleTech. It can be found seen on supplement shelves at Walmart.
Six Star contains a very basic ingredient formula consisting of rhodiola extract, gingko extract, and boron. Of these ingredients, rhodiola and ginko have some estrogen suppressing effects but they are not tremendous. And with boron, you already know that it is a proven mineral to boost T.
Six Star is not bad, given the price, but PRIMASURGE is definitely more effective.
Nugenix is a supplement that, like Test x180, is best-seller at GNC.
The Nugenix formula's primary ingredient is L-Citrulline, a nitric oxide enhancer. L-Citrulline is very effective at increasing blood flow throughout the body and seems to have pro-erectile effects.
Another ingredient in Nugenix is tribulus. Tribulus is a herb that boosts libido without having any effect on testosterone levels whatsoever.
So all-in-all, Nugenix may be effective at boosting sex drive but its effects on testosterone are not really proven.
